Frequently Asked Questions

A few commonly asked questions or misconceptions:

+What to expect from a garden consultation?
Our up to two hour (time may vary depending on size) One-on-One consultation is personalized for you. We offer two different consultations depending on your gardening needs. For both consultations we start with a phone call to go over what exactly your looking for and experience level. Our herb and vegetable garden consultations includes a visit to your property to check the soil, take measurements, pictures and go over options. The native garden consultation includes the same but more. We will also check the area for invasive and natives species that are already present. But best of all you will receive our one of a kind, personalized native plant spreadsheet with at least 75 species of plants for you to choose from. These plants are very specific to our ecoregion and your garden. With numerous options including a variety of heights, textures, bloom times, colors and more. More importantly the spreadsheet is based on host plants that attract various species of lepidoptera (moths & butterflies), birds, bees and beneficial garden insects. Finally for both garden consultations we will put together a plan that includes a design drawing.

+How much does a consultation cost?
Our garden consultations can run up to an hour but typically between 1-2. Herb and vegetable garden consultations are $120. Native garden consultations are $200. The fee includes everything in the garden consultations seen above.

+Do you offer services to maintain the spaces after the initial garden consultation?
Yes we do the fee will be based on travel and size of garden.

+Do you offer any personalized coaching, classes or workshops?
Yes we do personalized coaching based on your skill level and gardening needs. Please be sure to follow or social media for any and all updates.

+Are pollinator gardens the same thing as native gardens?
While pollinator gardens can be native gardens, native gardens may not be pollinator gardens. A pollinator garden refers to flowers that bees, butterflies, moths etc can collect nectar or pollen from. These can be plants from anywhere in the world. While native gardens are species of plants that have evolved in a specific region that also offer nectar and pollen.
